Aims of Syllabus

The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

• acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
• develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
• build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

What is covered in this lesson?

In lesson 6, we covered all the types of Ratio concepts involving quantity transfer. In lesson 7, we will begin with questions involving *Proportion Transfer*. Proportion Transfer questions are more complex than Quantity Transfer questions.

The complexity can be managed through systematic data recording. In this lesson, it is important to take note of the way data is recorded.
