The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

• acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
• develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
• build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

This lesson is covers the concepts needed to solve for the Area of Triangles in various situations. This consists of the following concepts:

• Ratio Expression in Triangles
• Ratio in Terms of Base/Height = Ratio in Terms of Area
• Identify Common Base in Triangles
• 1/2 x Common Base/Height x Total Height/Base = Total Area
