Aims of Syllabus

The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

  • acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
  • develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
  • build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

What is covered in this lesson?

In this lesson, we will begin with FDRP lesson 1. 

*FDRP* stands for Fraction, Decimals, Ratios, and Percentage. In Primary 6, we will teach students not to view math topics as independent silos. Instead, topics and concepts are often mixed and tested in a single question.

In this lesson, we will be covering the below three concepts:

  1. Quantity and Value, Given Quantity Difference
  2. Quantity and Value in Units 
  3. Quantity and Value, Given Unit Difference
