Aims of Syllabus

The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

• acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
• develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
• build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

What is covered in this lesson?

In this lesson, we continue with External transfer concept. We will also be introducing the “Internal transfer” concept. Of the 2, “Internal transfer” is much more difficult. Partly because the model drawing required for “internal transfer” is not easy, especially when students attempt to draw the transfer in a single model.

In Matrix Math, we will teach students to draw internal transfer questions in 2 separate models. This method help students analyse better and solve such questions a lot easier.
