Aims of Syllabus

The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

• acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
• develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
• build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

What is covered in this lesson?

This lesson will focus on 2 concepts

1. External transfers, given the difference
2. External transfers, given units

These concepts require good model drawing skills as students will need to cut and paste models. We will expect the students to struggle a little as this is a major leap compared to what they had experienced in Primary 3.
