What is covered in this lesson?

In this lesson, we will be focusing on Total Concepts and its variants. Total Concept is a term we coined for Problem Sums involving multiplications and division.

Multiplication problem sums can be categorised into 3 types.
a) Total = number of groups x no of items in one group
b) No of groups = Total ÷ no of items in one group
c) No of items in one group = Total ÷ no of groups

The children must understand the different ways “Total Concepts” can be tested. Such exposure will help to minimise careless mistakes and mistakes due to rote learning (memorising steps).
