Aims of Syllabus

The Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to:

• acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics;
• develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem-solving; and
• build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

In this lesson, we will cover problem sums involving length. This consists of the following concepts: 

• Total Concept – Indirect Find Total Values
• Interval Concept – Find Total of All Intervals Starting From First Object
• Interval Concept – Find Total of All Intervals Not Starting From First Object
• Interval Concept – Find Number of Cuts
